Carlsbad Caverns National Park
The National Park Service asked North Shore to produce a ten-minute film that would introduce park visitors to the First Peoples who call the Guadalupe Mountains and Carlsbad Caverns home. Both the Mescalero Apache and the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo have strong ancestral and spiritual ties to this unique landscape.
North Shore worked with elders and tribal representatives from both nations to craft a film, “Our Sacred Grounds”, that shared the Apache’s and Ysleta del Sur’s stories in the way that they wanted them told. The film sensitively explains both nation’s spiritual ties to this place in their own words and details the sometimes painful history of the Apache in the region. Yet, “Our Sacred Grounds” is ultimately a positive and forward-looking film, in the spirit of its characters.
“I wanted to express my sincere thanks to you and your staff for all your efforts on the Our Sacred Grounds video…The entire team was professional and a joy to work with from beginning to end. From the first meeting to the last review you were the perfect person to draw out heartfelt and important information that the Mescalero Apache and Ysleta del Sur tribal members wished to share about the caves and the Guadalupe Mountains. It was a pleasure working with North Shore Productions and I would highly recommend you and your team to anyone needing a creative and caring film company."
